There are plenty of ways to get around the city that do not involve expensive taxis. And if you plan accordingly... you can make it to the same destinations, while having more fun, in just under 5-10 minutes of what you're saving by riding in a taxi! Remember... the island of Manhattan is not particularly large. It only seems as such.
